Transportation

Our school is near the C train (Rockaway Ave.), L train (Atlantic Ave.), A/J/Z train (Broadway Junction) and the B12, B14, B25, B45, B47, B60, B65, and B7 buses.

Bus transportation is provided to all students from .5 miles to 5 miles. Families may also utilize a paid van service or request MetroCards to be used weekdays before and after school.

    Zonya Hicks

    Zonya Hicks is the principal of Achievement First Brownsville Elementary School. Ms. Hicks joined AF Brownsville after starting her career at KIPP TEAM in New Jersey, where she was a founding teacher and then Dean of Students for eight years. She also served as Dean of Students at Success Academies. Before entering education Ms. Hicks graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the City University of New York – Brooklyn College, and a master’s degree in elementary education and teaching from Long Island University – Brooklyn. Since joining AF Brownsville, her exceptionally strong people leadership skills have shined through – she was recently recognized as one of the country’s strongest real-time coaches by our partners at CT3.
