Simon Obas is the principal of Achievement First Bridgeport Academy Middle School. Mr. Obas started his career in education at AF Amistad High and AF Bridgeport Middle after graduating from Johnson C Smith University, where he majored in Political Science. Mr. Obas went on to earn his master’s degree in social work and a doctorate in urban education from Fordham University. Prior to returning to AF, he worked as an instructional fellow at Brownsville Collegiate Charter. Previously, Mr. Obas was the dean of students at KIPP NYC College Prep High School and the founding assistant principal of school culture at the Charter High School for Law and Social Justice in the Bronx. He’s also a native of Connecticut and a published author. Mr. Obas is excited to continue building a world-class school for Bridgeport’s kids.
